11 Apr 2025 UNESCO Bangkok, in partnership with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and other non-binary or gender-diverse (LGBTIQ+) youth networks across Asia, is leading efforts to promote inclusive, safe, and equitable learning environments for all learners. This five-year project (2021–2026), supported by Christian Dior Couture (CDC), strengthens the capacity of youth to advocate for LGBTIQ+ inclusive education while encouraging transformative change in learning spaces. The initiative targets four countries—Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore—where youth-led and youth-serving organizations are designing and implementing impactful activities. These include co-developing advocacy strategies, mapping capacity needs, conducting well-being workshops, and building partnerships with the education sector to foster safer and more inclusive environments.Between 2023 and 2024, UNESCO supported the efforts of Mindventure (Thailand) and RainbowAsia (Singapore). In 2025, support will extend to youth-led interventions in the Philippines and Japan. As the project reaches its midpoint, an external evaluation has been commissioned to assess achievements, identify lessons learned, and guide future activities. To build on this momentum, UNESCO Bangkok also organized a Learning Exchange—a platform for youth to share knowledge, promising practices, and innovative solutions that have emerged through their leadership and advocacy.▶️ Watch the video to discover how young people across Asia are shaping more inclusive learning spaces—one action at a time.
