01 Aug 2020 This report sheds light on the many ways COVID-19 has impacted the region’s 2.2 billion people – with the most vulnerable families often hit the hardest. UNICEF predicts that an additional 22 million children in Southeast Asia and the Pacific could fall into poverty in 2020 because of the socio-economic impact of the pandemic. It is up to all of us to ensure that the hard-won gains achieved for children in the areas of health, education and protection are not only defended, but built upon. This blueprint for action beings to shape the answer as to how we might build a stronger future for every child and acts as a first step towards unlocking our collective imagination and to explore how partners from all corners can come together to reimagine a better world for the most vulnerable children.
