08 Mar 2022 Women and men interact with their environments differently. Women are disproportionately dependent on natural resources, but have less decision-making power over them. Men are more likely to experience deaths related to indoor air pollution, although women are more exposed and experience other health effects. Bothe of them are affected by climate change differently. This report explores the nexus between gender and the environment utilizing data from countries in Asia and the Pacific. It presents new estimates on a number of gender-environment related topics, and calls for the production of related data to fill existing data gaps.
